Anyone can be an abuser
But the real mystery is finding out who
Abusers can be men or women, but the major of cases (93%) are
males. The image of an abuser is a facade- They try to be the "good"
provider, boyfriend, spouse, or father. However, they tend to have low self
esteem and do not want to accept responsibility for their actions (especially
violent actions). They often attempt to rationalize their behavior or blame
others for it. Click a link on the left to find out more about different types
of abuse.
